Things to Do in Leitrim and the North West of Ireland

Drumshanbo is beautifully situated in the heart of Lovely Leitrim (Ireland). Slieve Anierin towers to the East with the Blue Arigna Mountains to the West and between them Lough Allen. Drumshanbo town is surrounded by scenic woodland on the south shore of Lough Allen, which is one of the major course fishing centres in the country. It is easily accessible by rail, road or river, just two hours from Dublin and 12Km from Carrick-on-Shannon. With a population of approx. 850; Drumshanbo provides a friendly atmosphere for the visitor and there is an abundance of good pubs, restaurants and shops.

- Golf : Carrick now boasts an 18-hole golf course, with Ballinamore having a 9 hole, both are approximately 18 Km away. The internationally renowned courses of Rosses Point Links, Strandhill Links and the Slieve Russell are all within forty km
- Swimming : Our local heated outdoor pool (50 m) is open June – September.
- Horse-riding : Visit the equestrian centres in Drumshambo or Carrick, or roam further afield, Leitrim's landscape is wonderful when viewed from horseback
- Watersports : Available at Acres lake and throughout the area including Canoeing, Sailing and Sailboarding

- Crusier Hire : During the boating season, you can hire a boat from approx. €70 per day for 4 – 6 people from Carrick-on-Shannon. This can be arranged for you
